Annan Talks Collapse [3-Balls. You jus don't get it] Tuesday, February 26, 2008 22:04
Annan now meets with President Mwai Kibaki and opposition leader Raila Odinga to try to spur progress.
"I hope people will understand this is a move intended to speed up action," Annan said in announcing that he was calling off the talks.
The great thing about this new course is that the principal's words will be taken with substantial finality.

Annan Talks Collapse [washiku] Tuesday, February 26, 2008 20:34
mlefu are you talking of 'Gathee' the former principal of Kagumo High School-Kagzz? He was my tough principal and I seriously think he should come and giv these guys the famous 6 canes coz they are simply misbehaving! Kwani how sweet is this power? I hear they are now training militias to fight out if they dont agree. i don think these guys cares a bit about us. Wish they were neva born but now that we already have them....tutaendelea kuvumilia kuwa wakenya as we pay heavy taxes to give them money to pay their militias and take their families to other countries if they succeed in burning Kenya into ashes!

Annan Talks Collapse [knowstocks] Tuesday, February 26, 2008 20:21
I have always wondered why Kibaki and Raila were never part of the negotiating team in the first place. It is clear the negotiating teams cannot make any concret decisions (or else they are hinding behind the excuse) without consulting their masters and thus wasting time instead of moving forward. If I were Annan I would bring them to the negotiating ttable and that way no one will have the excuse of going to consult hi/her pricipal etc!

WHAT IS DEMOCRACY? [dudej] Tuesday, February 26, 2008 19:33
Why should i come out into the streets to hit your ritho simply coz some silly proffesor said so.?
And why should I keep my cool when a dude holds a gun at one Kivuitu's neck to hurriedly/fraudulently announce himself the manager of 30% of my hard earned income. I pay too much in taxes to not know clearly who won the otherwise peaceful contest. This is the fruit of my labor your are talking about,30% of it. I deserve the right to know whether or not he earned the mandate.
go sort out their mess from wherever and leave us alone???.
Sorry it is not their mess,it is the your mess; especially the ignorantly arrogant middle-class,very ably represented in this forum. It will not take over two months of civil strife to throw you out of your false illusion of comfort.
The reason why slum dwellers are first to the streets is because they have no more comfort to loose. See you are incapable of empathy because 'they live there because they are lazy - or their ancestors were!'
If Kenyans cannot stand democracy, then they better go for some alternative - eg autocracy/dictatorship - No problem as long as there is an agreed way of becoming the dictator (eg. They military prowess,heritage/monarchy,or some duty rotta)
IF IT IS DEMOCRACY,THEN LET IT BE SEEN TO WORK!
the ordinary just wont do ...

Annan Talks Collapse [knowstocks] Tuesday, February 26, 2008 18:51
My earnest prayer is that these talks do not collapse, and that they yield something positive for Kenyans. Should they collapse and ODM supporters return to the streets,it will be extreemely difficult (if not impossible) for anyone to bring the two groups together for anything in the name of negotiation.
May God Graciouly hear our prayer.

ECONOMIC COLLAPSE [Mandal Singh] Tuesday, February 26, 2008 16:53
PNU is shooting itself in the foot.Already some donors are withholding their support.Funds for the police under GJLOS has been stopped.Japan, through JBIC are seriosly monitoring the events, and the 15billion Port expansion can be stopped, because parliament has to approve the government's guarantee to KPA.

Naona mambo nagua ngumu. Mimi nilisema guwa msungu awezi malisa shida ya mwafrika mweusi. Wachana wapigane na atakaye shinda, basi aongose.
There is a brat called Martha who appears not to have ever seen a war (a war even on TV is bad enough and you wouldnt wish it on anybody). Maybe its coz kirinyaga and lavington were peaceful hence she doesnt see the big deal. Mass action and ethnic/political clashes are real and its bad news. You can be sure it will now be worse if its to break out again coz everyone has regrouped and i understand are armed with weapons.
Its does now appear that PNU were conducting a PR exercise with no intent on sharing power (which they stole). For heavens sake what is so goddamn good about power when you are not acceptable to the masses? Its such a joke!!
Where is the President to show leadership at this time..... some people need to be told to just SHUT up and accept reforms for greater prosperity???
God Bless you,God bless KENYA.
Happy are the oppressed, for they shall rejoice when justice prevails.

Annan Talks Collapse [Stacy] Tuesday, February 26, 2008 11:14
i agree with you Njunge. They should just leave us alone. We did our part by voting. let me do their part and whatever they come up with,we will live with it.
When will our dear people realise that politicians just use them so as to attain their own personal interests. When people realise that politicians do not give a damn about them, that is when they will stop going to the streets just because a 'prof' has said so and they will concentrate on earning a livelyhood

Annan Talks Collapse [Stacy] Tuesday, February 26, 2008 10:03
@Njunge
I do not agree with you. we cannot result to violence and riots everytime a solution does not come up or when things do not go our way.
How about we forget about them to take as long as they want to come up with a solution, afterall life has been going on quite well
We do not need any more violence. We want a peaceful kenya and we should learn to love each other and co exist

Leaders w/o vision. [SUSU] Tuesday, February 26, 2008 08:34
I dont understand why we are always depending on our 'leaders" to guide us even when we know they are vision less. If they are not ready to agree on anything can't we do something? I mean we the ordinary wananchi??? Can't we just forget about the riots and killings and force them to agree on something???? We are the ones who'll suffer they will take the next flight to the states and we'll keep on killing @other like chicken. It's time we take action and forget about them. Without us they r nothing otherwise let's just sit and wait for the next panga to fall on our heads..and we have ourselves to blame..not Coffee Anan.

My heart is bleeding, everyday I live in the shame of being a Kenyan! because of some tribal chiefs. May they be rejected both even in Heaven!
"We have lived a big lie that we have national leaders when we only have tribal chiefs who are driven by cheap ethnic and personal interests. That is the painful truth," said a tearful Kaparo. http://www.eastandard.net/news/?id=1143982382
